About Our Dogs Can!
At Our Dogs Can, we are passionate about helping dogs reach their full potential through rewards-based training with a focus on building confidence and rewarding positive behaviours. We are dedicated to providing an engaging and nurturing environment where both dogs and owners can thrive, building confidence one paw at a time.
- Our dog training facility started in June 2024, offering both indoor and outdoor training spaces.
- We keep our group sizes small, ensuring every team receives personalised attention from the trainer.
- All our classes are structured, age-appropriate and focused on essential life skills and manners, helping your dog develop into a confident, well-rounded companion.
- Each session includes a variety of activities and equipment to keep learning fun, engaging and rewarding, as well as discussions on the most important canine topics.
- We offer progression pathways, so you and your dog can continue to grow and learn together.
Why group training?
Group training offers many benefits...
- Dogs learn to focus on their owners around other dogs and people, just like in real life.
- Owners get guidance from a qualified trainer and support from dog owners going through similar things.
- Training follows a structured plan to help you and your dog progress each week.
- Dogs can safely socialise with others, building good manners and confidence.

About me
Hi, I'm Gemma, a qualified dog trainer with over six years of experience and a BSc (Hons) in Animal Training and Performance.
I've loved animals for as long as I can remember and chose to follow that passion straight out of school, completing a Level 3 Animal Management course. During my studies and work experience at local dog training classes, I discovered a fascination with how dogs think, learn and communicate.
That interest led me to Hartpury University, where I completed a BSc (Hons) in Animal Training and Performance, learning through both practical experience and academic study. During this time, I also volunteered at a Canine Hydrotherapy centre and with a local behaviourist to broaden my understanding of canine behaviour and performance.
As our knowledge of canine behaviour continues to evolve, I am dedicated to lifelong learning and staying up to date with kind and effective training methods. I am currently studying an MSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
I am passionate about helping dogs and their humans learn together, build confidence and enjoy life as a team.
When I'm not training or studying, I am spending time with my puppy Jessie, an 8-month-old Golden Retriever.
